The Texas Tech University School of Music is pleased to host the 2010 American Musicological Society, Southwest Chapter Meeting on the campus of Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. October 23-24, 2010
We are soliciting proposals for presentations, panels, and/or lecture recitals on any topic related to musicology. Proposals addressing the following are especially welcome:
Music and Genres of the Southwest
Music Across Borders
Archival Research
Music and Landscapes
Medieval Music
Proposals must be received by Friday, 10 September. To submit a proposal, send an abstract in an email attachment as a word document with AMS-SW Proposal in the subject line to Dr. Thomas M. Cimarusti at thomas.cimarusti@ttu.edu . All submissions should include the following: title, name (as it will appear on the program), institutional affiliation, e-mail address, phone number, and any AV equipment needs. Abstracts should be double-spaced and should not exceed 400 words. Paper presentations should not exceed thirty minutes, as to allow ten-minutes for discussion.
Poster Sessions
In addition to paper presentations, we are pleased to offer space and poster boards for poster sessions. Sessions will take place in a location adjacent to the main conference room, allowing easy access during conference breaks. To submit a poster session proposal, please follow the guidelines above. Please indicate AMS-SW Poster in the email subject line.
